I just did a quick survey in the office. It wasn’t very scientific or official but the results are rather revealing!!
The survey was basically an observation of what was displayed on PC screens around the office. The sample was 14 people, don’t forget it is lunchtime.
3 x BBC sport (all males)
4 x Facebook (3 x females, 1 x male)
1 x BBC wildlife (female)
2 x YouTube (1 male, 1 female)
1 x webmail (female)
2 x work stuff (1 x male, 1 x female)
1 x blank (yep, they were sat staring at a blank screen!!!)
I conclude that not much work is getting done, men are more likely to read BBC sport, women more likely to be on Facebook and the person sitting at the blank monitor needs some help. I’m not included in these numbers and can’t really be judgement – I’m walking around looking at people’s computer monitors!
