Due to a significant Christian festival called Easter, my friends and I were blessed with a few extra days off work. As a result a couple of social rides were planned with the Ampthill Collective.
Our ride on Good Friday had an interesting start, having left Ampthill we reached the bottom of the hill and a combination of snow, rain and ice falling from the sky caused a few concern glances from the less-hardy riders amongst the group. Plenty of sarcasm was targeted at those individuals who choose to ride in either shorts or without gloves. Fortunately, the weather improved in the middle and end of the ride and it turned out rather pleasant. Half way round the route there is a slight hill that slit the group into several pieces and we consequently dropped one rider, which buggered the ride slightly as we had to look for him as he took a wrong turn. He had obviously got his head down as it took us a while to catch him, but we did and finished the ride all together…and the sun was shining.
Chapeau to PK for keeping the pace high on his first ride, happy days!
