Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.

The sunshine is hiding

The weather forecasts suggest that it might get a little chilly over the next days and weeks. Therefore I hatched a plan to get out early doors and get a few road miles done before work. I left in the dark and was treated to an lovely sunrise over Lidlington lake, the sky was a beautiful crimson colour and with the reflection from the lake it was very picturesque. I would have stopped and taken a photograph, but it was cold and my phone was buried in my bag. I went the long way to work, so about 19 miles on the way out.

My ride home was assisted by a stiff tailwind so I whizzed the 14 miles in under 50 minutes, which is a singlespeed record for me. I think that is about 17 miles per hour or an average cadence of 86 rpm. Ideally I would be spinning 90-95 rpm which equates to a speed of 18 mph (which is about as fast as I can do on the flat on a singlespeed). Must work harder!
